IUP Community Music School Recitals
The IUP Community Music School will present two year-end recitals made up of private lesson students.
Whether you want to become a music educator, performer, composer, musicologist, or critic, at IUP you will be exposed to a range of instruments, music styles, and career options.
Popular Music Studies Certificate
(A bachelor's degree in musical theater is offered through the Theatre, Dance, and Performance Department, which has open auditions for the musical.)

All music majors are eligible for scholarships, which are determined based on your audition.

Our ensembles are available to any student, regardless of major. Any IUP student who has reached 15 credits of classes may participate in additional ensembles for zero credit, so you can be part of the IUP music scene without having to pay additional tuition.
Indiana University of Pennsylvania is an All-Steinway School and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.

Thanks to additional funding made possible by the IUP Student Cooperative Association, the IUP Chapter of the International Tuba Euphonium Association was able to purchase $800 worth of new music written by underrepresented composers. In all, the organization bought 26 new pieces for the tuba-euphonium ensemble as well as solo pieces for tuba and euphonium.
Professor of piano at Hunter College/City University of New York, Geoffrey Burleson will perform a solo recital at IUP on Monday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. in Gorell Recital Hall. Admission is free.
IUP piano professor Henry Wong Doe taught a masterclass and performed a solo recital at Hunter College/City University of New York, March 19th and 20th, 2024.
Numerous alumni of the IUP Department of Music performed in the pit orchestra for Conemaugh Township High School's recent production of "Mary Poppins."
